BRIAN SCOTT Pastor
Brian and his family came to Oak Ridge in August 2009. As a minister’s kid, he grew up in Miami, FL but called Macon, GA home. Brian came to Christ as a child and felt a call to serve Christ and committed to vocational ministry as a senior in high school.
Brian has served churches in GA and TN in Student Ministry and as Pastor. He is currently completing a doctoral program in Leadership in Ministry at McAfee Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA. As a Pastor, Brian finds deep joy in seeing God come alive in the hearts of people of all ages and backgrounds. An added joy is the personal growth in individuals that leads to recognizing and utilizing gifts and talents for the Lord Jesus.
ELIJAH TAFAO Minister of Music
Elijah grew up in Hawaii and Samoa where people “talk story” or exchange impressions and experiences about life, passing down stories to future generations. His favorite stories center on the goodness of God and His power to transform lives and communities.
A graduate of Golden Gate Seminary in San Francisco, Elijah’s passions lie in the areas of worship, prayer, teaching, and discipleship and he has a particularly soft spot for seeing the local church built up and established as the bride of Christ.
JACK ABBOTT Minister of Students
Jack Abbott grew up in the South Knoxville area and spent as much time as he could in the Smoky Mountains. He became a believer as a child and later made a commitment in high school to share Christ boldly. Doing so created a passion to see students grow in their faith.
Jack attended the University of Tennessee during the Peyton Manning era (and even caught a pass from him one day!). He's a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where he developed a passion for theology, missions, and seeing students grow in their faith while serving others.
Jack loves backpacking, mountain biking, skiing, and travel and has visited 13 countries on 4 different continents. He and his wife Darlene have three children: Cade, Evan, and Vivian.
